The U.S. Navy Strike Fighter Squadron 101 (VFA 101) called itself the Grim Reapers. And they certainly flew the kind of planes that could drop death on a dime, from the F-4 Phantom II to the F-14 Tomcat to the F-35C Lightning.

The Navy deactivated the squadron in 2019. But its memory lives on in the group's iconic emblem, the Grim Reaper riding a bolt of lightning.
